1. MAIN JOB PURPOSE
To manage the total site through optimization of resources and implementation of the manufacturing strategy. The Plant manager will lead the factory to achieve and maintain high standards of Service, Quality, Safety and Environment, working with empowered, multinational autonomous teams.





2. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
· The position reports to Senior Vice President, BFSA
· Reporting to this position are:
- 1 Secretary
- 2 Production Superintendent
- 3 Refinery supervisor / HSE Coordinator
- 4 Plant Engineer
- 5 Warehouse supervisors
- 6 QAQC Supervisor
- 7 Customer Service Officer
- 8 Purchaser
· The position requires regular contacts with:
- Commercial Manager for finalizing plant capital programs and for regular updating of financial and accounting aspects of manufacturing;
- Development and Quality Manager for communication and implementation of design and development projects as well as quality projects and clarification of facts about the projects.
- Marketing Manager, BFSA for innovation (product and packaging development) projects.
- National Operations Manager, BFSA on sales and any product-related issues.
- Local and export customers / distributors on supply chain and product issues.




3. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
· MANAGING OPERATIONS AND TECHNOLOGY
- To manage all manufacturing operations from RM/PM reception to FG shipping, taking responsibility and meeting all agreed performance targets, e.g. efficiency, waste, quality and customer service.
- To provide Technology leadership for the plant and business team; also ensuring that the plant innovation (R & D) program is delivered.
· MANAGING FINANCE
- To manage the plant budget to agreed levels.
- To lead the site cost savings/efficiency exercises.
· MANAGING PEOPLE
- To lead, motivate and coach others and being able to work as part of a team.
- To ensure that all levels of staff understand the site manufacturing strategy and their role in implementing it.
- To provide clear direction and ensure open communication channels.
- To manage the learning and development of the staff.
- To ensure that the manufacturing team has the right skills in the right places to meet the needs of the business and deliver results.
- To support the development of the right operation organization without disrupting the performance.
- To manage the site labour efficiently and effectively both in the short and long term to drive cost savings.
· MANAGING INFORMATION
- To manage the communication process with enthusiasm for all manufacturing employees both up and downwards
- To creatively design, generate and share all appropriate business information with the manufacturing team.
- To demonstrate analytical problem solving skills.

5. PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
- Chemical Engineering or Food Technology.
- Fluent in English with preferably a basic working knowledge of Arabic.




6. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Fully Operational (FO)/ Working Knowledge in people and operations management.
- Working Knowledge in Quality, SHE (Safety, Health and Environment) and Extended Supply Chain issues.
