Vocational IT Instructor Taif & Makkah Male Campuses




Niagara College, widely regarded as one of Canada’s most innovative applied learning post-secondary institutions, has expanded its international reach through satellite campuses located in Taif and Makkah, Saudi Arabia. With a
strategic focus on developing “world-ready and work-ready” graduates, the campuses specialize in delivering a number of diploma programs in the areas of tourism, hospitality, business, food technology and a foundation program for English language development.

Applications are invited for the position of Vocational IT Instructor, Niagara College KSA, Taif and Makkah male campuses. Reporting to the Vocational IT Chair, the Vocational IT Instructor is responsible for teaching a range of subjects such as; keyboarding skills and use of computer applications relevant to the workplace, creating electronic presentations, producing spreadsheets, creating and using databases, maintaining business records and resources, retrieving details from records, and, utilizing a knowledge management system.

All courses will be taught using the English language.

This position has duration of 12 months, with the possibility of renewal after completion of 12 months. The start date is January 2017. It is expected that the successful candidate be flexible in terms of hours of work and maintain confidentiality, diplomacy and tact regarding internal and external relations.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Teaching non-native English speaking learners of various abilities and levels Participating in the development of the course curriculum and the production of high quality teaching and learning resources, including resources in electronic formats Integrating and using technology to enhance teaching and learning in the classroom Developing lesson plans, course outlines and teaching and learning plans in accordance with Niagara College practices Developing a variety of assessment tools and assessing student work in compliance with Niagara College practices and Saudi Skills Standards requirements Maintaining records of student achievements and reporting results of student assessments in accordance with Niagara College practices and in compliance with Saudi Skills Standards record management system requirements Interacting with people at all levels of the organization The successful applicant will require the following qualifications, at a minimum: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related subject is required Minimum of three (3) years Information Technology teaching experience in an industrial, commercial, technical, vocational, or post-secondary environment is required Non-native speakers of English should possess an IELTS 6.5 academic certificate or equivalent as determined by Niagara College Superior knowledge of computer applications relevant to the workplace Demonstrated ability in the use of technology in a variety of formats to enhance teaching and learning in the classroom Exceptional classroom management skills and the ability to create a learning environment that promotes and enhances student motivation Effective presentation and communication skills, both written and oral Ability to function as a team player within a multi-cultural work environment Ability to work independently and to meet tight deadlines Compensation and Benefits Package: Competitive salary package based on academic qualifications and teaching experience, including paid vacation and air ticket from home country & return ticket upon completion of contract Medical insurance coverage Transportation allowance Accommodation Ongoing professional development opportunities Application deadline: December 6, 2016Position will commence in January, 2017 While transcripts/credentials are not required for the interview, they are mandatory prior to any offer of employment.
