Lab Technician
Degree qualified in chemistry and or Laboratory Technology, with a minimum of 2 years experience in a school setting required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: To manage the day to day running of the laboratory to ensure the science department are well supported with preparation of experiments and adequate consumable resources
DUTIES
Liaise with the Head of Science regarding the day to day running of the laboratory
Liaise with the Science teachers for daily tasks and preparation of experiments for classes
Prepare experiment set ups for Biology, Chemistry, Physics
Conduct pre-lab experiments
Ensure easy access to equipment and advice
Arranging chemicals according to their proper order of compatibility
Manage the equipment and consumable science resources in an orderly and responsible manner in accordance with health and safely guidelines
Keep inventories of chemicals and equipment and arrange ‘top-up of supplies as necessary
To assist with the annual ordering of chemicals and equipment
To arrange and follow up and relevant repairs to equipment
